Warwick Farm Racing Tips -Wed Nov 27
We will be at Warwick Farm this Wednesday.
Track: Good 4. Rail: True.
Best Bet: Race 1 – FITEUSE
Race 1: 3YO BM64 Handicap 1000m
I was really keen on FITEUSE (5) at the cancelled Hawkesbury meeting last week, no reason to drop off here. She was great winning on debut leading all the way at Newcastle, she then had no luck at Kembla at start two when held-up and copped a bump in the straight. Forget she went around there.
JUST FIELD (4) resumes for the Snowdens, she was a dominant winner on debut then well beaten but in the market at Listed level at start two before going to the paddock. KATERU (3) is on debut for the Godolphin team and has had four trials in preparation for this. Watch the betting. MR MOSIAC (1) is undefeated after two starts, he will find this harder but will be on the speed for a long way.
Race 2: BM72 Handicap 2110m
LOVESEAT (6) will probably be one of the shortest priced favourites of the day. She has won two fo her last four including last start at Rosehill only 7 days ago. She was very well backed last week and comes back in trip here, look for her late.
DARK PEARL (4) will be fitter for two runs back, he was well beaten on the Kenso track last time but forget he went around. He had no luck when the runs came and never really saw daylight. GUISE (1) gets a couple of minor gear changes, she was also in that same race at the Kensington track and didn’t have any luck. CALIFORNIAFIREBIRD (3) should be up on the speed for a long way, he had been racing consistently before finally breaking through at Canterbury last time.
Race 3: 3YO BM64 Handicap 1600m
DOROTHY OF OZ (6) led all the way when resuming to win her maiden at Hawkesbury, it has proven a good form reference with three winners coming through the race. She was then forced to work early last time and it showed late, sticking on well after sitting parked to be beaten under a length in a blanket finish.
STARLA (4) looks the main danger coming off a last start win at Canterbury at the first night meeting of the season when very heavily backed. She was dominant but does have to step out of maiden grade against her own sex into this. GOLWEN (3) has placed at both runs since winning his maiden, he gets the blinkers for the first time and should get an economical run behind the leader and top pick.
BIGBOYROY (1) bolted in by more almost 5 lengths when winning his maiden last time, he did it the hard way outside the This is a lot harder, it looks his spot again and looks a great lay.
Race 4: 3YO Maiden Handicap 1300m
This looks the toughest race of the day. Six of them are resuming, one on debut and only 20 starts between the 11 of them. SAMURAI (1) was a real eye-catcher on debut t Wyong last start, he was held-up approaching the straight before hitting the line hard. The bigger straight here and out in trip look to be more favourable.
Most of them. TRACY MAY (4) placed at her first two starts before going to the paddock, she didn’t do much in a recent trial against better horses, watch the betting. MISS SURE SHOT (5) showed some tactical speed last prep and has placed at two recent trials, she should go forward from the good draw. SAAS FEE (7) may be looking for further, she ran on well on debut and resumes today. Maybe later in the prep for her out to the mile?
Race 5: Fillies and Mares BM70 Handicap 1100m
This really does look a race in two. ZANIAH (5) led all the way to win her maiden two back very easily, she then went to Scone over 900m, sat behind the speed and cruised past them to score untouched, the margin was 3 lengths with almost another three back to third. She has trialed well, should push forward from out wide and be very hard to catch.
SUPER LONGLEA (6) looks the obvious danger. She is undefeated after two starts, she ran on hard to score art Hawkesbury when resuming. She has the talent, but how much tactical advantage will she be giving away? SOPHIELLA (4) didn’t have much room late last time in a harder race and unsuccessfully protested against the third place-getter, this is easier. WHISKEY SHOOTER (3) next best, she will go forward and has trialed well enough. If the money comes for Zaniah, load up.
Race 6: Rising Star BM70 Handicap 1400m
TWENTYFOUR CARAT (11) showed promise at his first two preps, but he looks to have come back a much better horse. He was resuming at the Kenso track last star, well backed form an each-way quote in, sat behind the speed and accelerated quickly when asked for a dominant win. The sectionals were good, he will only need to reproduce that to win.
COMMUTE (12) has placed at her last couple up on the speed but has had her chances, she will need to get cover one off the fence to have a chance. VITESSE (6) was beaten as favourite on a harder race at Newcastle on their stand alone Saturday meeting, she will be on the speed for a long way. SNIPS (1) has good tactical speed and will try to lead all the way as he did at Kembla resuming.
Race 7: Colts Geldings and Entires BM70 Handicap 1100m
PETRONIUS (10) was really good when winning his maiden before going to the paddock. He showed plenty of fight when attacked, although the margin wasn’t huge, he showed some real important traits. He showed a stack of speed in a recent trial and was pushed right out suggesting he is ready to go fresh.
EMBRACER (2) is resuming and has also trialed well, he clearly didn’t handle the heavy track last time we saw him. He has the blinkers off, Tim Clark going on is a plus. He can certainly win but looks to have come up way too short around the $2.20 mark. INANUP (1) has won 3 of 4 when resuming as he is today, gets the good claim and on top of the ground helps. GENERAL SOHO (5) should get a soft run in behind the speed and was a winner when fresh last prep.
