Warwick Farm (Wed)

Warwick Farm Racing Tips -Wed Jan 15

We will be at Warwick Farm this Wednesday.

Track: Good 4. Rail: Out 3m entire circuit.

Best Bet: Race 3 – PARCHE

Race 1: 3YO Colts and Geldings Maiden Handicap 1400m

CALIFORNIA AUGUST (1) is a 5-start maiden that has placed 3 times, he sat outside the leader when well supported at Wyong last time, He has good tactical speed, the last couple forced to face the breeze, from the good gate today should be able to find the rail and be hard to run down.

KINSHIP (4) was huge odds in a harder race on debut, he hit the line well from well back in a race where it was favourable to be up on the speed. YOUNG HEART (8) showed improvement when runner-up last start after working wide early to find the front. Watch for any money for those on debut, in particular BROADSIDE ARMOUR (3) from the in-form John O’Shea yard.

Race 2: BM70 Handicap 1600m

TO YOUR HEALTH (7) beat the girls at BM70 grade last time, she sat outside the leader on the Kenso track, took over turning for him e and was too strong for them after being backed into favourite, she has good speed and will be making her own luck again.

JUDGE JUDI (2) has a fantastic second-up record (4-3:0:1), although a little flat fresh I expect improvement here. SNIPS (1) has placed at his last two, he may need a little luck from the inside draw as he is likely to be giving them a start. Look for him late. BOOMTOWN RAT (4) will find this a lot easier than last start, also a back-marker that will need everything to go right.

Race 3: 3YO Fillies Maiden Handicap 1400m

PARCHE (7) gets the extreme draw, that may just mean we get a better price about her. She looks to have come back well off a brilliant trial recently here at her home track, she did it very comfortably and will only need early cover to run over the top.

CAPRI OF TUFFY (5) has placed at all three runs this prep, she will go forward and make her own luck. She stuck on well after sitting outside the leader last time at Randwick in a race no easier than this. TRACY MAY (1) has placed at three of five in her career, she was entitled to get close r last time after a soft run when beaten as favourite on the Kenso track. The draw makes it tough as she will be hunting forward early. Watch for any money for the resuming pair from the Godolphin yard, in particular NIGHT WATCHES (12).

Race 4: 4YO and Up Entires and Geldings BM70 Handicap 1400m

Toughest race on the card, wouldn’t be surprised if any one of the nine returned to the winners stall.  TIME OF GLORY (6) has won two of his last three, not sure where he will get to in the run but with the right horse to cart him onto it, should hit the line well. COME ALONG (3) is a last start winner at Kembla when he was unwanted in the betting, he has a really nice turn-of-foot when asked and just needs to be saved for one run. ZOFFANY’S LAD (2) may find them a bit too nippy over this trip fresh, look for him late if they do go hard early as can happen in these small even fields. MAGIC CHOIR (5) was hampered on the turn when the runs came last time and didn’t really recover, with Tommy Berry taking the ride today expect that he will go forward and look for the top.

Race 5: BM70 Handicap 1200m

LIFETIME QUEST (3) has been runner-up at his two previous first-up runs, he led all the way two back then was beaten as favourite in a similar race to this when outside the speed before going to the paddock. Has trialed well enough, he should be up on the pace for a long way.

ANUBIS (8) bolted in to win his maiden two starts back then there was obviously an issue last time when well beaten after leading. Resuming today and hard to line up the form, watch the betting for any confidence. BALONNE (6) has been very consistent winning three of his last six races, including a BM70 at Canberra last time when running on hard. Look for him late. JACK’S BAR (2) has had a six week freshen-up since his first-up run, has trialed well enough and is drawn well. Would like to see some support though.

Race 6: BM70 Handicap 1000m

KISS MY SWISS (6) is a real winner, she led all the way to win back-to-back races when resuming, had a month off before going to the Kenso track on New Years Day and ran a place after sitting parked in the breeze. Hopefully she can find the rail first and she will be hard to run down.

PRIVATE THOUGHTS (9) led all the way to win her maiden two back then backed it up with victory in her first go out of that class, beating the top pick after having the softer run. MOSSMAN GORGE (1) has had a month between runs, last start at Canterbury he had a perfect run in transit before angling around the leaders but just couldn’t run them down. He doesn’t map as well here today. EVE’S MISS (8) is drawn well down on the inside to get a cheap run.

Race 7: Mares BM70 Handicap 1400m

REBUKES (5) is a last start winner against the girls in an easier race, she was an easing favourite on race-day but the victory was dominant after a peach of a ride. Hugh Bowman legs up today replacing Buckley, She looks to have plenty of upside.

FEATHER (6) was a real eye-catcher last start at the Kenso track, after settling last she stormed home to miss by the narrowest of margins with a big gap to third. Look for her late. HIGH LOW BET (10) is resuming, she was first-up here at the track and trip last campaign and hit the line well. VOILA (2) never really looked like winning last start but did run on well into second, beaten a long way, against the boys. Easier here and gets some good weight relief with the claim.
