Morphettville Racing Tips - Mon Mar 11

Best Race 5 no 1 Easy Beast

Race 1 no 3 DESPATCH

Lightly raced McEvoy galloper resuming off a lengthy 39 week spell. If his two recent trials are any indication suggest he has returned as well as ever, having been fitted for this with two strong wins. Certainly not deterred by the wide draw, in fact expect him to map ideally getting in enjoying lovely on-pace trail. Best ratings suggest this bloke has a clear margin on his rivals and if able to replicate anything close to that expect him to be simply too classy for these. More than happy to get involved with the current $3.10 on offer. Also expecting Quiddick ($6.50) to run another bold race and suggest punters also include this mare in their respective betting strategy.

Race 2 no 8 TAHNEE TIARA

Country trained five year old mare that is flying, coming into this off some terrific consistent form including a near miss at Moonee Valley last start. Seriously don’t expect her to find this any tougher yet drops a massive 4.5kg in the weights. Maps to again do very little work sitting up handy just off leader whilst Raquel Clark also has a great affinity on this mare having finished no worse than second in her four previous rides aboard. Must be said looks to represent a cracking bet at the current $5.50 in what isn’t a strong race. Also suggest including Lostarc ($12), is another on-pace type screaming to break through. Gets huge jockey change with W.Pike jumping aboard-also appears to be well overs and simply must also be supported at that quote!

Race 3 no 4 GOTTA BE GOLD

MacDonald/Gluyas trained filly resuming. Displayed a great deal of promise last campaign when saluting first-up however it was her second-up run that made punters stand up and notice. Destroyed some handy types including Kemalpasa on that occasion, a horse that has since really progressed into a smart type. Also displayed the necessary pace on that occasion which would see her negate the wide draw here hence would love to see her ridden aggressively. Quite simply if she has returned as well, her best ratings are better than these. Maybe recommend monitoring betting firstly, if there is support then jump in because the current $5.50 would read as extremely generous!

Race 4 no 12 ANGEL ROCK

Lindsay Park trained two year old filly that debuted just over a week back in the Listed Cinderella Stakes however attracted no support suggesting she would be improved for having the experience. Despite that, suggest she should have very nearly won after being badly held up losing her position on the turn when ready to strike. The way she never shirked her task by knuckling down again to be beaten just 1.4L would have given connections plenty of heart. Also gives every indication the rise to the 1200m should be ideal whilst also gets the added bonus of Jamie Kah jumping aboard. In what is hardly a vintage Magic Millions field this year, and given any further natural improvement, expect this filly to give supporters a terrific run for their money at the current $10.

Race 5 no 1 EASY BEAST

Richard Laming trained visitor that also ventured across the border at this same meeting last year when scoring over this trip. Comes off similar five week freshen-up to last start when had no issues with the 61kg to score last start hence alleviating those concerns. This seriously doesn’t appear to be any tougher whilst also have no concerns with the wide draw, reckon he works over to settle outside the leader on just a relatively moderate tempo. Simply stunned the bookies have gone up $10 considering we have priced him $3.50….expect this bloke to give us a terrific sight!

Race 6 no 2 LITE’N IN MY VEINS

Ciaron Maher trained six year old attempting to win this same race for the second consecutive year. Resumes here over the mile however would expect Stable have had this race in mind for quite some time hence respecting Stable having him ready to go first-up over the mile. Has been fitted for this nicely with two recent trials including a win at latest effort. Has a terrific record this track/distance having won three of only four previous attempts whilst placed only other occasion. Suggest maps to lead these for fun at just a moderate tempo. Given he can steal some cheap early sectionals, expect this bloke to give supporters a terrific sight and certainly worth the gamble at the current $6.50 on offer.

Race 7 no 10 TOP OF THE RANGE

Typical Adelaide Cup race which is as open as the Sydney heads with only a minority of these having been tried over the two miles. Gone looking outside the square so to speak, and have come up with the Mike Moroney trained Top of the Range that profiles ideally coming into this ready to peak. Recent efforts suggest this bloke is now screaming out for the 3200m having been finding the line nicely adding further confidence. Obviously trainer knows how to condition his runners to run this trip having won a Melbourne Cup with Brew, whilst also gains the services of the ‘wizard of the west’ with William Pike doing the steering. Honestly think he is a bet to nothing at the super generous $21 being offered. Expect Naval Warfare ($7) to be the big danger with the proven two miler, Aloft ($41), presenting as the best roughie.

------

Race 8 no 3 STELLAR COLLISION

Attempting to go one better, after producing a huge run when just missing in this same race last year. Maps to again enjoy a very similar run racing just off pace, and given there certainly doesn’t appear to be any more depth this year would expect him to again be very hard to hold out late. What is surprising however is the prices, bookies have gone up a most generous $12! Simply impossible not to get involved in at that quote. Having said that we must also have something on Casino Wizard that has also gone up $12….expect this old warhorse to give a big on-pace sight.

------

Race 9 no 11 YANKEE EYES

Three year old filly that has thrived since being stepped up to this trip. Comes into this off a totally luckless last start effort when never on the track, yet still kept chasing gamely when still finishing runner-up. Again just missed start prior in what was a high rating race, producing figures that would give this a big shake. Maps much more favourably here, racing handy leaders backs and given she only has to carry 52kg expect her to be extremely hard to run down. Reckon she presents as a lovely investment to round out the day at the current $5.50. Best roughie Miss Identified ($19).
