BEST BET Race 4 no 2 Ace Attack
Next Best Race 5 no 12 Mandee
Gawler – Saturday, 13 January 2018
Track: Good. Weather: Overcast (). Rail: +3m 900m-400m, +2m Remainder
Assessed for: – Good
Race 1 – Coopers Handicap – BenchMark 90 – 1208 – 02:02
Top Pick: Go the Journey (1)
Danger: Battle Brewing (5)
Trifecta: Strategic Demand (4)
Multi: Rock Forthe Ladies (2), Counter Pulse (3)
Race Comment: Expect Go the Journey ($2.80) to go straight to the front and give a great sight. Does however meet a few more than handy types here and only rates a bet at bare minimum $3.20. Expect Battle Brewing($5.50) to also run well first-up however again was expecting at least $6. A race where we suggest punters to monitor market closely.
Betting Confidence: 70%
Race 2 – Kingsford Hotel Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate – Maiden – 1108 – 02:37
Top Pick: Bajan (1)
Danger: Shera Khan (11)
Trifecta: Institution (2)
Multi: Good Nic (8), Scarecrow (5),
Port Vale (4), Banchory’s Choice (7)
Race Comment: Open/tough little race however one we will be having something e/way on Bajan($6) that has been strong in each of his two runs back this time in. Ideally would have liked to have seen him over at least 1200m however still expected to again go very well. Shera Khan($8.50) also expected to run well whilst Good Nic($26) rates as the clear best roughie.

Race 3 – Goldin Farms Handicap – BenchMark 70 – 1508 – 03:12
Top Pick: Peretti (4)
Danger: Pearl Raider (8)
Trifecta: El Desperado (5)
Multi: Lord Greyson (6), Rushwa (2), Modulate (1), Manhattan Desire (7)
Race Comment: Not a bad little race. Thought there was plenty of merit in the win of the plunge horse Peretti 1st-up and must say appeals as some overs at the opening $4. Having said that Pearl Raider($9.50) does look the big value in the race and will be including in all exotics.
Betting Confidence: 80%
Race 4 – Terrace Function Centre Handicap – BenchMark 70 – 1712 – 03:52
Top Pick: Ace Attack (2)
Danger: Cobber (4)
Trifecta: Braidley (3)
Multi: Downunder Prince (9), Seek to Destroy (8), Dances On Stars (1),
He’s Got Skills (5)
Race Comment: Loading up here on Ace Attack($2.50). Clearly the days best investment and will be supporting accordingly! Cobber($7) stepping up in trip is a positive and will be including in all exotics.
Betting Confidence:: 95%
Race 5 – Ausbia Electrical Handicap – BenchMark 64 – 1108 – 04:35
Top Pick: Mandee (12)
Danger: Vicki’s Boy (3)
Vivaldi’s Quest (10)
Trueno (4), Blonde Missile (11), Good Luck Chuck (8), Classy Jack (2)
Tip Comment: Mandee had no luck when well fancied 1st-up when still far from disgraced. Likely to have only taken plenty of benefit for having had the run & now drawn much more favourably to give a great on-pace sight. Looks to get in super down on the min after claim-big improver!! Vicki’s Boy very close to breaking through again having finished runner-up in 2/3 most recent starts including last start most unlucky effort-this suits. Vivaldi’s Quest another that had no luck whatsoever last start-respecting!
Race Comment: Must confess to thinking we had found one here when doing the odds however unfortunately market assessors agree with our opinion about Mandee($3.50). Still keen to support….will be a big improver! Vicki’s Boy($7.50) definite overs and the one punters can be on e/way. Respecting Vivaldi’s Quest($5) however has been well found.
Betting Confidence: 80%
Race 6 – Holdfast Insurance Handicap – BenchMark 75 – 2112 – 05:15
Top Pick: My Nikita (8)
Danger: Soaring High (4)
Each-way: Exalted Lightning (2)
Multi: nCool Fonzy (7), Eclair Fiesta (9), Tunes (1), Constructor (10)
Tip Comment: My Nikita Weir trained visitor that admittedly doesn’t make a habit of winning however suggest her two most recent Vic runs stack up strongly for this. This certainly easier yet still gets in down on the min. Soaring High another that doesn’t win out of turn however also rarely too far away in his races. Steps up to the 2112m for the first time however treating that as a positive-definite danger! Exalted Lightning racing in clear career best form & expected to again be right in the finish again.
Race Comment: Actually pretty keen here on both our top two selections in My Nikita($4.50) & Soaring High($5)….dutching both runners for a handy return. Exalted Lightning($6) also not far off being a bet & will be monitoring closely.

Race 7 – Barossa Valley Schild Estate Wines Handicap – BenchMark 82 – 1508 – 05:50
Top Pick: Don’t We Love It (8)
Danger: Roselli Sting (7)
Each-way: Hazy Lane (6)
Multi: See Me Rollin’ (10), Galaxy Gazer (1), Kirona (3),
Lucky Paddy (2)
Tip Comment: Don’t We Love It Weir trained visitor that has produced two most encouraging efforts since resuming. Surely only strips fitter again stepping up to his more preferred trip. Roselli Sting suggest this bloke isn’t too far off a win despite what initial just even form reads on paper. Has finished runner-up in 2/3 runs here at track & drawn ideally-improver! Hazy Lane on-pace type that has returned as well as ever producing two strong runs since resuming. Won 2/4 previously 3rd-up-1508m only query??
Race Comment: Open/tricky little race as market would indicate with nearly every runner having at least some claims. Siding narrowly with Don’t We Love It($5) on an e/way basis. In saying that giving Roselli Sting($7) & Hazy Lane($4.50) both strong chances whilst See Me Rollin’($15) shapes as the clear best value in the race.
Betting Confidence: 75%
Race 8 – Gawler South Bakery Handicap – BenchMark 70 – 1208 – 06:25
Top Pick: Baker’s Dozen (13)
Danger: Alaskan Jade (11)
Roughie: Babitzin (3)
Regal Spur (9), Infinity Queen (5), Miss Cuoco (8), Street Life (12)
Tip Comment: Baker’s Dozen expecting the formlines surrounding this mares two recent placings to stack up strongly for this. Certainly no tougher, maps ideally, whilst only two runs have both been very good here. Alaskan Jade really has been desperately unlucky in 2/3 most recent efforts despite still placing on each occasion. Right in this again given just even luck from awkward draw. Babitzin caught the eye when working home well late 1st-up. Races well here & goes well 2nd-up-value!
Race Comment: Wide open race however with that comes plenty of potential value. Expect Baker’s Dozen to again run her usual honest race with the opening $8.50 certainly making plenty of appeal. Expecting Alaskan Jade to also run well with the current $10 also representing definite overs whilst Babitzin($46) really does present as a terrific roughie with genuine prospects.
