The Big 6!

Caulfield
R1 #1 EASTENDER

Won the Summer, Hobart and Launceston Cups last campaign, he had 2 months off before resuming with 65 kgs over 1880m on the synthetic at Devenport. In what can only be described as an enormous effort, he dropped out before rattling home to get the bob on the line. He meets no stars here, it is time for him to open his mainland win account.

R2 #5 WILLIAM THOMAS

Was first-up for almost a year here last start a fortnight ago, was unwanted in the betting, got back to last and over-raced. He ran on hard late though and although the margin was 3.7L, he was closing fast late. HE has placed at his only other two second-up runs and should improve off that run. Just needs to settle and not get too far back.

R7 #1 PROPELLE

Right on heels of some smart males 2nd-up off wide run then ridden bit colder here and exploded over handy field of older horses. Jumps to 60kg but back to own age/ sex now. Drawn to swoop with (likely) pattern on-side now.

Scone
R3 #1 LIBERTINI

Chased hard in the Kindergarten Stakes on debut but was beaten on its merits. I was questioning the form out of that race but what this girl did last time sees her a put-in take-out job here. She settled mid-field and very wide without cover at Randwick, accelerated quickly when asked and made into a times and margins job. She looks very smart.

R6 #2 TREKKING

Is a real winner, he chased hard on the heavy track resuming before running on well at Randwick last time to score at Group Three level. He has the draw, should be at peak fitness and has some class and consistency.

Morphettville
Race 1 no 6 SHE SHAO FLY

Tony McEvoy trained filly that gives every indication she has a more than bright future ahead of her despite having just the one win next to her name. Despite frustrating punters of late suggest her two recent South Australian runs have been very good, finding the line strongly on each occasion. Remembering these came off the back from when she started hard in the betting in the much tougher Sires Produce at Flemington back in March. Step back up to the 1400m honestly appears ideal now adding further confidence. Also noting she has a clearly advantage now over all of her rivals having had the most race experience. With Dwayne Dunne now taking the reins simply expect this filly to beat these hence suggesting the current $3 to be more than generous….betting up!
