The Big 6!

Last Saturday’s Big 6 was a wipeout with just 2 2nd’s and a 3rd the best results. We’re in the black for 2019 by about 12 units – hopefully a few more winners will make it a nicely profitable year.

Onto this week:

MOONEE VALLEY

R2 #2 BALAABEL

Took 6 attempts to break her maiden status, but she couldn’t have been more impressive doing so last start in SA. She was ridiculously short odds in doing so ($1.10), sat back mid-field and when the jock asked her for the effort, she quickly rounded them up and won running away by more than 6 lengths. She can take the next step here.

R4 #3 MYSTYKO

Was resuming at Sandown last start, he was handy in the run before being held-up at a vital stage. He got clear at the top of the straight and when he balanced up, attacked the line hard.

ROSEHILL

R6 #4 ALWARD

Has won two of his last five races since heading north to Queensland and has been very consistent, he doesn’t have a lot of brilliance but you know he will keep grinding away up on the speed.

R7 #12 DON’T GIVE A DAMN

4/7 at Rosehill and 2/2 at track/distance. Has early speed and an inside draw so likely to settle in the first few and drops to 53kg which should see him in this for a long way.

R8 #1 BON AMIS
Very good chasing fast pace win track record Hunter fresh at 1300m. Back a notch here and back to his best wining trip, on his favourite track. Has been in quinella 7 of 8 here at 1100m. Big weight but happily on top. (Oz Racing Form)
MORPHETTVILLE
R3 #5 SUNSTONE

Lightly raced Tony McEvoy three year old filly still only in her first campaign. Finished runner-up in her first two starts before breaking through for an impressive last start win. Gives every indication she will only be better again over more ground which she gets here stepping up to the mile for the first time. Given she still has plenty of upside expect to see a clear peak rating against, to be honest, her just moderate rivals. Maps ideally to do no work sitting handy-rates a conservative $2.50 in our books with the early $3.20 certainly making plenty of appeal.
