The Big 6!

We found 2 winners in last week’s Big 6, Southern France ($3.10) and Secret Vega ($2.70) for a small loss of 0.2 units.

Onto this week:

BALLARAT

R5 #1 CAN’T BE DONE

Did well to run into second last start when resuming up the straight, there was some good money for him that day and this looks easier. Jamie Mott to Craig Williams looks a huge bonus, I expect him to lead throughout.

R6 #1 BUMPER BLAST

Won his maiden at sale by a widening 6.5 lengths, an impressive margin at any level of racing. He then went to a BM90 over the Cup carnival, admittedly it was the greys race so not the strongest 90 you will see, was very heavily backed and won easily. Tough draw, will need some Willow brilliance, but this guy is very talented. So is the horse.

KEMBLA GRANGE

R3 #7 CALIFORNIA LONGBOW

Showed a nice turn-of-foot to win a similar race to this last time at Rosehill. He was a little unlucky at his two previous runs since resuming and deserved the win. He maps well in the big field and should be stalking the leaders early. Our man in Sydney
R4 #7 LUCICELLO
Covered ground yet too strong for older mares fresh at Rosehill. Easy winner only other 2nd-up run. 1200m suits even better. (Oz Racing Form)
R6 #2 STAR OF THE SEAS

The feature of the day is the $1M GONG at the mile, a new race at the back-end of RNSW’s mission to have a $1M race every week throughout this period of the Spring. Chris Waller knows how to set a horse for a race, hopefully that’s the case with STAR OF THE SEAS (2). He has had four runs back from a spell, was good in the Epsom before going south and looked a little flat in the Kennedy Mile on the first day of the carnival. Blinkers off today and is well drawn, Bossy on!

MORPHETTVILLE
R8 #2 FLY FOR YULONG

Lindsay Park trained Irish import that has been close-up in both Australian starts including last start when gave a big sight in much tougher BM 90 affair at Flemington. Considering that was just his second run back from lengthy 80 week his effort was more than encouraging. Surely only strips fitter again whilst plummets to this just moderate BM 70 affair. Maps to make own luck sitting up handy on what just appears to be a moderate tempo. Simply wins comfortably if he reproduces that last start rating. Considering we have him rated $1.80 suggest the opening $2.70 represents terrific value-best bet!!
