The Big 6!

We got away with a small winning day in last Saturday’s Big 6. From 5 bets we found 2 winners – The Inevitable (3.20) and Master Of Wine (2.10) Onto this week:

CAULFIELD

R3 #3 HILO

Beat G1 placed Southbank fresh then worked to line Ok in Guineas Prelude crossing line near Super Seth in much better race to be handy to speed. Back a notch here. Well-placed.

(Oz Racing Form)

R5 #4 PROPHET’S THUMB

Resumed at the Valley two starts back and attacked the line well, she then came here to Caulfield last time at BM9o grade and was way too good for her opposition storming home from the back. That was her first look at the track, look for her late.

R7 #9 GOD OF THUNDER

Racing so consistently this prep. He was a real eye-catcher at the Valley three weeks ago when flashing home late and looks better suited on the bigger track here. Hopefully after three straight meetings here the run on horses are not disadvantaged.

RANDWICK
R5 #1 VICTOREM

Wasn’t beaten far at Group One level over the Winter and went on to win at Listed level the next start. He has been set for this race resuming today with two official trial under his belt, with the set weight she looks well in against this lot and although he will be giving them a start, will be flashing late.

R7 #11 ARCADIA QUEEN

Came over from WA with a big boom and did nothing to deflate those expectations with her slashing win at Rosehill last time when resuming. She had a soft run in transit, eased around the leaders and ran on hard for a soft win. What was really impressive was her acceleration when she got out, this is obviously harder and she comes back in trip, but she maps so well. She is a star.

MORPHETTVILLE
R4 #1 GARNER

Indicated ability when finishing runner-up in only two starts as a two year old however suggest has come back, bigger and stronger producing two huge wins since resuming. First-up was never on the track yet still kept coming, to score eventually with ease in a race that has since produced three subsequent winners. It was however his last start run when taken over to Melbourne that had people turning their heads when simply charged from last to get up on the line. Gets out to the 1200m here, a trip we suggest he is screaming out for. Although he does meet a couple of handy types in this still thought he would be around the $2.25 mark hence pleasantly surprised to see Bookies betting $2.90 early.
