The Big 6!

Caulfield

R2 #6 MR RECKLESS

Draws horrendously out in 16, but that’s ok, we may just get a better price now. The import for Waller has only had the one run in Australia, he was very one paced and would have taken plenty from the run, placing at Flemington after 22 weeks off. No doubt Allen will ride him conservatively, look for him late if he gets a cart into it. Expect that there will be a little more sharpness to him today second-up.

R4 #1 MR QUICKIE

Is a winner, he charged home to win at Flemington fresh then went to Mornington on their stand-alone meeting and won the Guineas there. He was three-wide with cover before coming very wide, joining in quickly and charging clear. He gets the good claim, this looks no harder.

R6 #8 LEATHER N LACE

Resumes. Lovely jumpout win. Was not far off Winter Bride/ Ellicazoom (who have G1 form around them) without luck early last prep. In below limit here. All fresh form is strong. Keen runs well.

Randwick

R6 #11 PROBABEEL

Kiwi who has been set for this race since day dot, she bolted in in the Karaka Millions over the ditch before having her first Australian start. She chased home Kiamichi that day who has since come out and won the Slipper, she got a mile back on a day where that was not ideal, steps up to the 1400m and if the track is playing fairly across the width and you can make ground, she will be finishing better than any.

R8 #7 OSBORNE BULLS

The best 6 furlong horse in the country in my opinion, and this race sets up beautifully for him. Speed everywhere, he will let them settle early before Hughie gets him to the outside and swoops late. He handles the conditions well enough, last time he was here Tommy Berry decided to try tactics that nobody on the day had done and get to the extreme outside fence when narrowly beaten in an Everest, to this day I am still convinced if the hero option wasn’t taken, he would have won.

Morphettville

R6 #7 QUIDDICK

Racing in career best form coming into this off the back of two outstanding runner-up efforts behind both Despatch and Domination. Form has since been franked big time through his last start run having defeated a subsequent Listed winner in Everyday Lady. Has since been kept up to the mark narrowly winning a recent trial. This clearly easier whilst rails draw is the icing on the cake…rates a clear top pick at $3 hence making the days best bet as the opening $6.50 reads as simply huge overs.
