The Big 6!

Last week was another very nice one for the Big 6 with 2 winners from 4 runners – How Womantic ($4) and Anaheed ($3).

Onto this week:

Drew poorly in good race on Gold Coast and wasn’t in A-ground. Kept closing in Listed race prior at 1600m. Has been narrow second to G1 horses Land Of Plenty and Peaceful State at 1600m. Get back out to 1600m here. Top pick!

(Oz Racing Form)

Only has one hurdle here and that is the inside gate. He is a superstar, his only defeat was in the Caulfield Guineas by the brilliant Super Seth by the smallest possible margin. Everything went wrong on Magic Millions day and he was still way too classy for them, just a matter of where Ryan Maloney gets him in the run. The gaps usually open up here at HQ.

Won a Listed race in SA in December, was good in defeat after over-racing in the Christmas Stakes at Listed level again and then was narrowly beaten over the Magic Millions carnival last time. Drawn well in the big field, he should be mapping perfectly with the sit on the leaders.

Is a superstar and wasn’t beaten far behind Exceedance and Bivouac when last in work, we know how good they are! She has placed at all three rain-affected track starts, draws wide so Tommy Berry will have all the options. She loves racing here at Randwick also.

Is the best horse in this field I have no doubt, he has a win and a placing from two wet track starts but the barrier is obviously a concern. He drops a stack in class from his first-up run where he was ok up on the speed, I think he can sit parked and beat this lot. He won his only other second-up run.

Three year old gelding, and might we mention the only acceptor for this Morphettville meeting from the red hot Ciaron Maher and David Eustace Stable. Although this bloke didn’t beat much last start he was impressive when leading throughout, not only on the eye but on the clock too! Don’t expect he will lead in this however maps to enjoy the perfect trail, doing very little work from rails draw and if he runs up to his last start rating will simply win. After young Lachlan Neindorf’s claim he gets in terrific down on the minimum with 54kg. Reckon the opening $3.10 is a steal….betting up!!
