Rosehill (Sat)

Sydney Racing Tips – Saturday June 13
Saturday @ Rosehill:

Track: Heavy 9. Rail: True.

Best Bet: Race 1 – ANDERMATT
Race 1: ANDERMATT (2) from 1, 10 and 9.
Race 2: READY TO HUMBLE (5) from 9, 2 and 6.
Race 3: MISS EINSTEIN (6) from 1, 5 and 11.
Race 4: WU GOK (1) from 4, 3 and 5.
Race 5: MO’S CROWN (4) ) from 9, 13 and 2.
Race 6: MATOWI (4) from 6, 13 and 11.
Race 7: LASHES (10) from 7, 11 and 12.
Race 8: SURE KNEE (6) from 8, 14 and 5.
Race 9: BANDERSNATCH (3) from 7, 4 and 11.

Race 1: 2YO Handicap 1100m

ANDERMATT (2) won his maiden on debut at Kembla, he then came to town last time on the heavy track and after settling well back, ran on hard although did tend to lay in down the straight. The margin was only just under a length and it was daylight to third, he looks the best of the day.

LADY BANFF (1) was dominant at her first two starts in Qld, she was well fancied in the Magic Millions but had excuses featuring in the steward’s report with a laceration on the near hind. She has trialed well. SHOWTIME LADY (10) was sent to the paddock following a good win in a much easier maiden, she has trialed well and they obviously have an opinion of her. Watch for any money for the two first-starters, in particular OH SAY (9) from the Hawkes yard.

Race 2: Highway Class 3 Set Weights 1500m

Ahhh the Highway… tough race as always and no confidence at all. READY TO HUMBLE (5) won his first two this campaign before placing in two Highway races, he has good speed and looks the leader, if you can get anything from the first race re: on pace bias, he will be well backed. WICHITA WARRIOR (9) has won back-to-back races but deserves his chance at this. The latest was at Goulburn on a heavy track, settling last he ran on hard with the best sectional of the day late and got their in ythe last few strides. LEG WORK (2) draws awkwardly out wide, he has won three of four this campaign including a similar Highway last time. He will get back but the speed should be on and has shown he handles the heavy conditions. DREAM RUNNER (6) is undefeated after two starts, both of them at Canberra. Last time he was beautifully ridden, although he looked all out the line it was comfortable and their was a big gap back to third.

Race 3: Fillies and Mares BM78 Handicap 1500m

MISS EINSTEIN (6) is yet to win this time in but has been thereabouts. She placed at two in a row before coming through a similar race last time, she was mid-field on the fence and never really looked comfortable. She was held-up for a furlong when the runs came and only clear very late, forget she went around.

BOUND TO WIN (1) is going for three wins in a row, she showed she can handle the heavy conditions as well winning last start at her first crack on the bog track. She was well ridden and reeled off the best last 400m of the day at the trip. WORD FOR WORD (5) looked the winner last time but just may have peaked late, this looks easier back against the girls. Just needs to be saved for one run. MAGGIE MISS (11) has placed at all four runs this campaign without winning, she looks the leader and love the jockey change with Tim Clark going back on. The intent he rides with on a front-runner is second to none.

Race 4: Winter Cup 2400m

Waller has 5 of the 8 runner engaged here, happy to say he can run the first-four as well! Last start winner WU GOK (1) looks to have come back well from the paddock, the former WYong Cup winner absolutely swims in the conditions, as she showed again fresh. She sat behind the speed and was dominant in the run home, winning by almost 4 lengths.

THE LORD MAYOR (4) ran on hard in the same race from a mile back producing the best last 800m of the race, how much start will he be giving again? YULONG PRINCE (3) comes through the same race as them both and appeared to have every chance, maps well again but hard to see him getting the better of those two? SCARLET DREAM (5) rounds out the selections, all from the Waller stable.

Race 5: 3&4YO BM78 Handicap 1200m

MO’S CROWN (4) was beaten 5 lengths by the star Masked Crusader two starts back, he bounced back to his best when returning to a bog track last start. Here raced up on the speed before assuming control on the fence, kicked early in the straight and won easily. The key will be kicking up and holding them out?

MALEA MAGIC (9) has not won in almost a year but certainly her best is good enough. She led but was off the track last start and stuck on well after working early. If she gets an easy lead she will be hard to run down. SWITCHED (13) has been very consistent and has placed at all four heavy track runs. She resumed in a similar race and appeared to have every chance after a peach of a ride, interestingly the only time she has missed a place was second-up last perp. RARI (2) is yet to win out of maiden grade, he was last seen I the rich Inglis 3YO Sprint where he was beaten by the smart Rubisaki. He handles the wet but may just need a run to get going.

Race 6: BM88 Handicap 1800m

Tough race. MATOWI (4) was beaten out of a place when resuming at Randwick on the heavy track but did have excuses. He was held-up early in the straight but made ok ground late in a race that it was favourable to be up on the speed. He can improve second-up.

SOLDIER OF LOVE (6) has been really good winning the last two and clearly also has a liking for the wet tracks. The draw looks tough, do they just go forward and hope to get cover? SPIRIT RIDGE (13) is an import that has only had one run in Australia for a win, he settled mid-field and ran over the top but this does look harder. MILK MAN (11) has placed at his last three, he will go forward but doubt he can sit parked for 1800m and win.

Race 7: BM88 Handicap 1100m

LASHES (10) comes through the same race as a few of these, she was resuming and after settling worse than mid-field on the fence, was held-up slightly when the runs came. She got a split just before the furlong pole and ran on well into second. She has a terrific second-up record and should have finished closer.

ADELONG (7) is flying winning two in a row, including two starts back when beating the top pick. She has good tactical speed and if allowed to dictate in front with no pressure, they won’t be catching her. SUPERIUM (11) is scratched form an earlier race in preference for this. He will be giving them a start and still needs to prove himself on a wet track. BROKEN ARROWS (12) had every chance behind Adelong last time but does meet him better at the weights.

Race 8: BM94 Handicap 1300m

SURE KNEE (6) changed the tactics and led them up at her latest start, much to the surprise of most. He stuck on well enough after over-racing badly throughout, would love to see JMac chance his arm again and roll forward. She had no luck resuming and may just be able to pinch this with a daring ride. Watch for any COT’s from the steward’s in the lead-up.

TRUMBULL (8) has been well backed at his last two starts, he blew the start but was a real eye-catcher last two starts ago then again hit the line well on the heavy. Nash sticks with the ride, just needs to settle closer. TRUE DETECTIVE (14) has the horror draw to overcome, he likes to race handy to the speed and just hard to see him getting cover from that gate. He was very good producing the best last furlong of the race last time to win here, he does race well at the track as a rule. NOBLE BOY (5) has not won in more than year and will need everything to go right as he will get back in the run. He has the ability and surely a return to form is not far away.

Race 9: BM78 Handicap 1300m

BANDERSNATCH (3) looks the leader, he handles the wet conditions well and should be able to get a soft time of it in front. He wasn’t beaten far when resuming then came through a hot form rae behind Dawn Passage last time, weakening after leading. I like the fact he has been given a good hit-out at the trials, if the track is favouring those on the speed early, load-up.

None. I think he is one of, if not the, best bet of the day. HANDSPUN (7) has won second-up previously, Hughie rides and no doubt he will be conservative early. She has ability but hard to see her giving the top pick a start and a beating all things being equal? TRICKY GAL (4) loves the wet and was good in Qld last start. CUBAN ROYALE (11) has been good enough in two runs back from the paddock and can be included for the exotics.
