Rosehill (Sat)

Rosehill Racing Tips -Sat Nov 9

We will be at Rosehill this Saturday.

Track: Soft 6. Rail: Out 3m entire circuit.

Best Bet: Race 5 – MAID OF ORE

Race 1: Fillies and Mares BM78 Handicap 1100m

LUCICELLO (4) was flying last prep with 2 wins and 3 placings from 5 starts. She has been given a very quiet trial in preparation for this, draws well but will be giving them a start. If the tempo is right, she will finish too well.

SUPER OASIS (9) was ridden closer last start at Hawkesbury, she had every chance but was still coming through the line. She should take up a prominent position early. INVICTUS SALUTE (1) was only fair resuming but that is the norm for her, she has a better record second-up and gets the good claim. Any rain around wouldn’t hurt her chances. DANCE HALL GIRL (3) won two in a row earlier this prep, she had a 6-week break before a poor effort last time outside the leader. I expect they will try and lead again with her from out wide.

Race 2: Highway Class 3 Handicap 1500m

Another Highway where I have no confidence. The horse really on the up looks to be the last start maiden winner at career start two SOUTHERN APPEAL (17). His win was over 1200m and although he wasn’t brilliant, he ran through the line hard and looks suited getting out in trip. The big field should ensure a solid tempo.

Plenty of them. WEATHER CHANNEL (11) is drawn out and will revert to going back, ACQUITTAL (7) ran on well in the best last furlong of a Highway here last ti8me when beaten as favourite and CHAMISAL (1) maps well and is racing well at his last couple with a win and a placing.

Race 3: BM78 Handicap 2400m

ANGEL OF HEAVEN (4) has placed at all three runs this prep, she gets up in trip again and just needs to settle better. She maps perfectly behind the leaders, she was only a length off the winner in the Queensland Oaks last prep so she has the class.

RE EDIT (3) has the ability but is becoming a bit of a non-winner. She drops in class for this but not sure about the jockey change with Jay Ford going back on. The margin was unfair last start after she copped a bad check mid-race that she never recovered from. DESERT PATH (2) showed improvement when winning at Warwick Farm last time, he made a mid-race move to get up on the speed and stuck on well. He hasn’t placed at three runs at the track though which is a little concerning. ARTARMON (1) is an interesting runner having his first Australian start, he has only had 17 weeks off since last racing in the UK, it would be a great training effort.

Race 4: BM78 Handicap 1800m

PRESSURE (9) resumed at Ballarat with a strong win over the mile, she was then up on the speed and stuck on ok beaten favourite last time in a race where she wasn’t favoured the way the race was run. Hard to line up that form but she looks to be going through the grades nicely the last two preps.

CALIFORNIA LONGBOW (10) zigged and zagged his way down the straight last start, he will get back again and loses nothing with Tim Clark going on. EUGEN’S PICK (8) was ridden closer but was well beaten last time, this is easier dropping back from Listed level and I am sure they will adopt that tactic again. FALCON ISLAND (2) bolted in to win the Coonamble Cup last start after being ridden a little quieter, I expect that he will resort to an on-pace role here.

Race 5: The Country Classic Set Weights 2000m

The wide barrier looks the only obstacle for the best of the day MAID OF ORE (1). She has good tactical speed and will coming across early, she has shown she can do work in the run and still be too strong. She is going for five straight wins, this looks no harder than her last couple. Any cheap sectionals mid-race and they won’t be running her down.

READY FOR DANGER (2) won last start in Qld and should have the cold sit on her here, he was strong through the line and the 2000n looks ideal He looks a lock for one of the placings. EMANUELA (17) draws horribly out in 17she will also go forward off a good Highway win last start. This is harder and she will need to be first across to the rails you would think.  BUT I KNOW (18) is another last start Highway winner, she has good closing speed and will be the one finishing best if the other picks go at each other early.

Race 6: Golden Gift 2YO Set Weights 1100m

An odd time of year to be having a $1M race for 2YO’s in Sydney, but here we are. TANKER (1) rain on hard to win on debut at Caulfield a month ago and has trialed well since to get used to the Sydney way of going. The margin was big at that debut win, the 1100m should suit.

BLAZE A TRAIL (7) and MALKOVICH (8) are both on debut and have trialed well, watch for any serious money for them. There are obviously a stack of unknowns and tough having this as the first leg of the Quaddie. SEE YOU SOON (10) won on debut but looks to have her work cut-out from the impossible draw.

Race 7: Hot Danish Fillies and Mares Set Weights 1400m

REELEM IN RUBY (10) has never missed a place in 9 career starts, she has versatility and I expect that she will settle closer here. She chased hard from further back last time and got closest on the line, maps well in this grade could get out to each-way odds which looks a steal.

VINCUNA (13) travels up the Hume after a nice effort at Listed grade resuming. She was running on hard last time before getting tightened late, only beaten 2 lengths. READY TO PROPHET (8) will roll forward from the wide gate, she led and was run down last time behind the top pick. MADAM ROUGE (7) was the winner of that same race but was the beneficiary of a perfect ride, she maps well again but does need everything to go right.

Race 8: Colts Geldings and Entires BM78 Handicap 1100m

TONY’S REWARD (9) has won both starts this prep, he came very wide when running over the top at 64 grade resuming. He then went to Warwick Farm against the boys at 70 grade, was looking for gaps before running on strongly to nab them on the line. The Bjorn Baker team is flying, look for him late.

TRUMBULL (5) is another that will be giving them a start, he has placed at all three runs this prep and will be flashing late. She comes through a good form race last start. ECHO JET (3) is resuming, he won last prep when first-up and gets the blinkers off. A stablemate to the top pic, he has trialed well and should go forward at the start and make his own luck. AMERICANA MAGIC (2) has won 2/4 when fresh, resuming off a 21-week break he has good tactical speed but I doubt he can face the breeze and win.

Race 9: BM78 Handicap 1400m

A genuine dart job in the last with 15 horses going around and it will likely be each-way odds the field betting all the way through. SAUSEDGE (12) was well supported in a similar race at Randwick last time after two wins art home in Canberra. She was back in the run and never really got going back nearer the inside. She should get wide here and run on hard.

Very open race. PANDANO (13) will find this harder, he has shown a good turn-of-foot winning his last couple at Newcastle. He maps well. HIGH SHINE (9) was a drifter in the market and then vetted at the barrier resuming, she ran on well into second but the signs were there. BERGEN (7) will go forward and make his own luck, he won at his only other third-up run.
