Morphettville Racing Tips – Sat Aug 31st
We will be at Morphettville this Saturday.
BEST BET Race 5 no 1 SUPLEX CITY
Race 4 No 2 TEQUILA TIME
Above average MacDonald/Gluyas trained four year old gelding that is bursting to break through having finished runner-up in three of his past four starts. In fact his only recent below par effort came against much tougher Listed company hence does appear well suited in this much easier BM 75 affair. Maps to lead these on his ear on at a tempo where he should be able to dictate and suggest at the opening $8.50 he can give a terrific each-way sight. Concede the favourite, Schilldora ($2.30), is a big danger however she will be conceding our selection a start hence hoping we can steal a break. Best roughie is Nipperkin ($26) that is going much better than initial form reads!
BET: EACH WAY
ODDS $8.50 @ Sportsbet, BetEasy, Neds, BetStar.
Race 5 No 1 SUPLEX CITY
Super honest, relatively lightly raced five year old gelding that is flying since joining the Will Clarken Stable this campaign. Announced himself to South Australia with a most impressive 4L demolition job first-up before producing two big runner-up efforts. Then taken over the border where he wasn’t disgraced against tougher BM 78 company. Expect will relish the drop back to this just moderate BM 64 affair whilst the icing on the cake is the rise to 1250m which he should surely appreciate. Added bonus is he gets the services of Noel Callow (has placed in all three previous rides). Seriously suggest just needs even luck and he should eat these up and we are getting $3.50….best bet!! Equally keen to lay the favourite Aten ($2.55) that is literally coming out of maiden company!
ODDS $3.20 @ Neds, Bet365.
Race 6 No 4 PORT VALE
Most underrated galloper capable of producing some strong ratings when right. Expect will be now ready to peak having had the benefit of two runs back this time in however the big factor is he appears to finally get into a race with a likely solid tempo. The harder they go up front the better and with the closing sectionals this bloke is capable of a race of this nature is certainly well within reach. Simply looks the forgotten horse in early markets and a must each way investment at the ridiculous $23 on offer early. Also have plenty of respect for the Victorian visitor ElSicario ($7.50) which also appeals as early overs.
ODDS $23.0 @ Bet365.
Race 7 No 6 BEHEMOTH
Clear class galloper that has had nothing go his way in his two runs back since resuming however still suggest this is D-Day as this bloke has much richer aspirations lined up later in the Spring. Would really need to be winning this and in fact winning it well if a race like ‘The Golden Eagle’ is still a realistic aspiration. Remembering this bloke should be a Group One winner, a race like this really should be money for jam. Does however require things to go his way in his races as he can concede a start however suggest he should be able to settle a lot closer, especially considering he is now stepping up to the 1400m. Todd Pannell jumping aboard is the icing on the cake….more than confident this bloke can justify the $2.15 and present himself as a real Spring force!
ODDS $2.15 @ UniBet, Bet365.
Race 8 no 6 DIAPASON
Admittedly pinning our hopes here in the last on a mare that doesn’t win out of turn however suggest she appears extremely well in here in this just moderate BM 70 affair on best ratings. Expect will have taken plenty of benefit out of more than solid first-up effort against tougher company whilst remembering this bloke did win second-up last campaign. Drawn to do little work however concede will just require that ounce of luck. Trusting Todd Pannell to get the job done for us with the current $6.50 certainly presenting as good each-way value.
ODDS $6.50 @ UniBet.
