Moonee Valley Racing Tips – Sat Nov 30

We will be at Moonee Valley this Sat.

Track: Good 4. Rail: True.

Best Bet: Race 5 – TALENTI

Race 1: Super VOBIS 2YO Plate Set Weights and Penalties 1000m

Half of the babies in the 10-horse field are coming to the races for the first time. The Valley can be a tough track to get around at the best of times but for a debuting 2YO, no thanks. MUNTASEERA (9) is a dual acceptor between here and Sydney, SOOMAYA (10) is owned in the same interests but trained by the Snowdens on debut, BAAQYAH (8) and TAGALOA (2) were both good placing in the Maribyrnong Plate up the straight. Too hard. The betting will be crucial information.

Race 2: 3YO BM70 Handicap 1600m

BALAABEL (2) took 6 attempts to break her maiden status, but she couldn’t have been more impressive doing so last start in SA. She was ridiculously short odds in doing so ($1.10), sat back mid-field and when the jock asked her for the effort, she quickly rounded them up and won running away by more than 6 lengths. She can take the next step here.

WESTBROOK PARK (5) is also a last start maiden winner, although the margin wasn’t as large, he had to do it the tough way sitting three-wide without cover. He was also at unbackable odds. NOVEMBER DREAMING (7) is the third last start maiden winner, she led all the way to blitz them by 2.5 lengths at $1.15. JIMMY’S SECRET (4), also a last start maiden winner, led throughout to win by more than 4 lengths. Tough race, all four were very short and convincing in their maiden wins.

Race 3: Fillies and Mares BM84 Handicap 1000m

Only a small field, but all seven girls look to have a chance at taking home the major share of the prizemoney. FILL THE FLUTE (3) is a two-time winner here at the track, she lost all chances here two back when she blew the start. She led all the way to win on a heavy track last start, drawn well she should give them something to catch.

BE MY STAR (5) may need a little luck as she will probably be giving them a start off the inside draw, she has good closing speed as she showed at Morphetville winning last start when getting further back than expected. She needs to step well. CAN’TFORGETYOU (7) will also be giving them a start, she races well here as she showed winning here last start storming home between runners to win. CAUSEWAY GIRL (4) has had some issues, she gets a couple of gear changes and at her best can run over the top.

Race 4: Handicap 1000m

MYSTYKO (3) was resuming at Sandown last start, he was handy in the run before being held-up at a vital stage. He got clear at the top of the straight and when he balanced up, attacked the line hard.

THERMAL CURRENT (2) was also in that race at Sandown, he stormed home from the back in a race where it was favoured to be running on. JUNGLE EDGE (1) is resuming, you know what you will get with him. He will go forward and try to lead, the connections will no doubt be doing the rain dance in the lead-up, he loves it wet. LAGERFELD (4) won here at the track two back before fading when up on the speed racing up the straight on Cup day at Flemington. He will probably have to sit outside the speed here.

Race 5: BM64 Handicap 1500m

TALENTI (5) won his debut in NZ before two close-up finishes, he was transferred to the Robert Hickmott yard at Caulfield and was brilliant winning at his Australian debut. He sat back here at the Valley, came very wide and charged home over the top as favourite. This is harder yes, but that was very impressive and he handled the track well at his first crack.

BOLTOUTOFTHEBLUE (3) looks the leader, he placed here last time at his first go at the track, if he can get some cheap sectionals, he will be hard to run down. CANNOT BE SERIOUS (2) is very consistent, he maps well again but did have his chance last time in that same race that Boltoutoftheblue tried to lead all the way. INKSLINGER (6) is a last start winner that will go forward, he may have to sit parked in the breeze and will need them to walk up front to win.

Race 6: 3YO BM70 Handicap 1200m

RUBISAKI (4) looks to have plenty of upside taking on the older horses here resuming, she bolted in to win her maiden at Seymour, went to Flemington and brained them over 1400m before being narrowly beaten in a good form race there again over a mile. She resumes today off a couple of soft trials, she has plenty of ability.

THREE BEANS (2) won on debut then went to the paddock, he has placed at all three starts this prep after racing on the speed. He will be looking for the top early. SOMALS (6) is undefeated after two starts, she wasn’t entitled to win here at the Valley at start two after being held-up at a vital stage. This is harder but there was a lot to like how she overcame that set-back. PONGA (7) won on debut last start at Ararat, he was very good leading all the way and never looked like getting beat

Race 7: Fillies and Mares BM84 Handicap 1600m

VANUATU (3) looks the one and the best bet at the value, she placed here in the Tesio two starts back then ran on well against the pattern at Sandown when easy in the betting. If she can get the cart up from the fave, she can run over the top.

SURE KNEE (1) had two starts in Sydney to start her Spring campaign, she was most unlucky in both of them, in saying that, with her racing pattern of getting back, she usually needs everything to go right. She came to Flemington on Cup Day and was way too good when charging home and gapping them over the last furlong. Look for her late. SNOGGING (2) comes through that same race here, The Tesio, she looked to have every chance but will once again get a soft rails run. SHAHZADE (9) next best, but for the minor spots only.

Race 8: BM90 Handicap 2040m

GUNDOWN (1) looks a decent bet on the quick back-up after he was well beaten in a much harder Ballarat Cup last week. He was ok at Kyneton in the Cup the start prior and won the Moe Cup, he draws to get a soft run and the jock will have the options early. Hopefully he takes a sit.

SECRET BLAZE (6) may have been suited the way the race was run in his last start win across the border in SA, but it was done with authority. He should be fully fit now, he got right out to the Derby trip last prep so the trip shouldn’t worry. SIR PIPPIN (10) is hard to line up with two runs in Sydney this campaign, he will get back and run on. RUPTURE (9) won three in a row before tackling the Bendigo Cup last start, he wasn’t beaten far after being on the speed, it was probably preferable to be back in the field that day.

Race 9: BM78 Handicap 1200m

MORRISSY (10) was favourite here at the Valley resuming, he was left a little flat footed but hit the line well getting into second, he never really looked like winning though. He then went to Flemington on the last day of the carnival and was an easing favourite again, he looked to have every chance. This is no harder but gets his last chance.

GOLD MAG (9) draws horribly out very wide, he hasn’t been seen in six months but was racing well prior to going to the paddock. With the 3kg claim, hopefully they just set him alight and ride him positively with cover. SPIRIT OF AQUADA (6) is also firs-up and has won 2 of 5 when resuming, he will find this easier than what he was racing earlier in the prep. It looks a very open race on paper, expecting each-way odds the field. If MUMBLES (17) gets a start as third emergency, he must be included in everything.
