Moonee Valley Racing Tips – Fri Dec 13
We will be at Moonee Valley this Sat.
Track: Good 4. Rail: Out 4m entire circuit.
Best Bet: Race 4 – BOWING
Race 1: 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate Set Weights 1200m
NAMIMO (5) is resuming off a 21-weel break, she had no luck at her last couple of runs before going to the paddock. She was posted three-wide without cover and stuck on well, she won’t be a maiden for much longer.
PAUL’S REGRET (6) has only been to the races once, there was money for her at her debt at Geelong and she was very brave in defeat after sitting four-wide the trip. She looks to have plenty of upside. SUMMER LOVER (7) tried to lead all the way at Sandown on debut, she looked to have every chance and I am always wary about backing them after getting run down at the Hillside as it usually is favourable to be on the speed. DONDESKA (2) has placed at her last couple, her latest at Bendigo as proven a good form reference and Oliver goes on.
Race 2: 3YO BM64 Handicap 1200m
SALOME (11) bolted in to win her maiden two back at Benalla, she was then good when narrowly defeated at the Hillside track when up on the speed last time. Teo Nugent takes the claim, from the good draw they will struggle ti run her down.
It looks a very open race on paper and not a lot of confidence here. ROCKING EAGLE (3) was only fair in a harder race last time at Ballarat, he may have had issues with the tongue tie going on today. Go off his first two runs where he ran on well. LAKE’S FOLLY (7) bolted in on debut then was fair at starts two and three, he was sent to the paddock and resumes today, he may need a little luck off the inside as he will get back. POWER BOOM (10) was beautifully ridden to get her maiden win last start, this is harder.
Race 3: Fillies and Mares BM70 Handicap 1600m
Only a small field but they all look to have their chance. IGNORED (2) is an interesting runner having her first Australian start. She was a winner of three of nine in NZ, she now comes to the Danny O’Brien yard and gets the blinkers off. I would like to see some money for her. KARDASHING (1) won a BM64 last time at Sandown after leading all the way, she races well here and has only missed a place at 1 of her 5 trips to the Valley. MISS POLANSKI (8) was well supported to win her maiden last time and didn’t disappoint. She sat behind the speed before easing wide and bolting in by almost 5 lengths. This is harder but she may have turned the corner now. MRS SIPPY (5) beat the girls at 64 grade last stat after a gem of a ride, she doesn’t map as well here.
Race 4: BM64 Handicap 1600m
BOWING (4) is racing well this prep, a maiden win fresh then won last time at Classs1 level at Bendigo after running on hard from the back. He was very short odds and although the margin wasn’t large, it was with authority. He looks to be going through the grades nicely.
OKOTOKS (7) has been up for a long time but is racing consistently, he will also get back and you feel that he will need to be in front of the favourite when they make their runs. CASSIUS (10) resumed in a harder race at Ballarat and although well beaten, he did have excuses when held-up for the first half of the straight. SPANISH POET (6) travels down from Wodonga, he has won two in a row n easier grade, the latest he led all the way. This is harder but he is very consistent and will be making his own luck.
Race 5: BM70 Handicap 955m
HEKA EXPRESS (10) has plenty of speed and with the 3kg claim she should be battling for the early lead. This is her first go at the flying 955m here, she looks up to it after bolting in at Ballarat and then beaten by the narrowest of margins last time with daylight third.
MISTER MOGUL (9) was well backed last start at Swan Hill in the feature sprint but was swamped late with a big margin to third, his only run here at the track and trip he was runner-up after leading. Look for him to be carving across early from out wide. REBEL MISS (5) has been good at back-to-back races here at the trip, drawn well again she will give a sight. MISS STREET (2) won four in a row last prep, she had her chance when run down here over the track and trip resuming. She should be fully fit now.
Race 6: Mares BM64 Handicap 1200m
HIDDEN CHARM (8) was a winner on debut at Kyneton a little over two weeks ago, she was well backed off two good trial wins and led all the way, bolting in by more than 2 lengths. This is harder and on top of the ground for the first time, but she may be too quick for them.
LICKO’PAINT (9) is resuming, she was poor on the heavy track before going to the paddock but clearly something was not right. She showed good tactical speed at the starts prior to that. GOLDIFOX (5) is resuming and hasn’t missed a place at three previous fresh runs, drawn well with the blinkers off, she will be giving them a start but finishing as good as any. THE CLOSER (1) is resuming off a long break, she was also poor at the back-end of her last campaign but had been tested in much harder races than this early in her career.
Race 7: Entires and Geldings BM64 Handicap 1200m
AYTON (11) has to step out of maiden grade after winning on debut at Benalla. He was very heavily backed to start deep in the red, it was a professional win leading all the way but those that took the shorts probably weren’t too confident as he never really kicked clear.
SHAM I AM (12) is also a last start maiden winner, he was mid-field in the run before easing wider and charging home for an effortless win. Look for him late. CREATIVE LAD (13) comes into calculations if he gets a start after also bolting in at maiden level last time, VOLUM (7) will find this easier than last time at the Bool when not beaten far. He gets the blinkers back on.
Race 8: BM64 Handicap 2040m
GREEN IVY (7) won at Seymour before a 3-week break, he then went to Sandown and after getting back, was held-up at a vital stage before making ground late in what has proven a good form reference. Drawn well and this is certainly easier.
PARALLEL WORLD (11) will find this easier also, she was ok but had every chance against the girls at the Valley. She has good tactical speed and should be making her own luck.
NECESSITAS (9) wasn’t entitled to win last start, she was held-up for a lot of the straight before balancing up and getting up on the line. She is drawn horribly but should be charging late. LONGCLAW (3) will also be giving them a start, he was a good winner resuming at Pakenham. An open race.
