Thoughts: Most including me expect Sydney FC to win this match comfortably and ferry straight into next week’s Grand Final, given their stellar A-League season. Perth will have other ideas after their surprise victory over Melbourne City and hope they get lucky by catching the home team off guard. Not only did Glory fully deserve their win last week, they defended brilliantly, keeping what was just their second away clean sheet of the season. But they will need to stick to that mantra and play even better here to beat the premiers, who haven’t lost a home game this campaign. I’m not sure Kenny Lowe’s side are capable of that, as they’ve struggled for consistency all season. For me there are also a number of other factors against them including travel, the fact that the home side have had a fortnight’s rest and are playing at home, and lastly Glory’s inferior recent H2H record against the Sky Blues. They have lost 4/4 previous encounters and conceding at least three goals in all four of those losses. Sydney are undefeated against Perth in 7/8 recent meetings overall as well and there’s no doubt they will give Glory a thorough inspection defensively – a different attacking proposition to Melbourne City entirely. As a result I’ve chosen this bet as I think there will be goals but cannot see the home side being beaten and expect them to win in normal time.

Prediction: Sydney Fc
Suggested Bet: Sydney to win & over 2.5 goals @ $1.90
Value Bet: Sydney -1.5 Asian Handicap @ $2.20
