Big 6 (Sat)

Big 6 – May 7

Last week’s Big 6 became a Big 4 after a couple of scratchings. It was HUGE! 3 winners – Count De Rupee (8.00), Glint Of Hope won at 16.00 after we suggested betting the place (3.90) and Regardsmaree (2.60). Our othe tip, Belle Savoir ran 2nd.

Onto this week:

:one: Caulfield R5 #3 IT’SOURTIME
:two: Caulfield R7 #8 UNCLE BRYN
:three: Gosford R5 #14 HAMERON

:four: Gosford R9 #1 OUR PLAYBOY
:five: Gold Coast R2 #2 REMLAPS GEM
:six: Morphettville R5 #2 GENERAL BEAU

CAULFIELD

R5 #3 IT’SOURTIME

Was a huge run last start when 2nd to EXTREME WARRIOR in the Listed Bel Esprit this track and trip when bounding at the start and running 4/5 wide the trip from the widest barrier. Drawn to stalk the speed here, only goes up half a kilo and looks the one to beat.

R7 #8 UNCLE BRYN

Unlucky on Australian debut before powering away at Sale. Looks a genuine Group horse, should be able to handle these.

GOSFORD

R5 #14 HAMERON

Didn’t quicken 2nd-up but nice last 100m in strong form race then worked early on fast pace latest at 1900m and good effort! Now down in weights (and in well relative weights) to 2080m.

R9 #1 OUR PLAYBOY

Bolted in last start in a BM100 over 1400 at Randwick on a heavy 8. This bloke is a wet track specialist and is set to peak here. The top weight of 60kgs is a task but he has won over distance carrying 59 and placed 2nd in the Listed Cranbourne cup 1600 carrying 60kgs. With 2 wins and a 2nd at the distance this looks his race.

GOLD COAST

R2 #2 REMLAPS GEM

Is an absolute speed machine and distance specialist 6 from 6. He has won 2 from 2 at the track and distance and goes on all ground. The addition of J Mac to ride only enhances his chances. Looks well placed to win again.

MORPHETTVILLE

R5 #2 GENERAL BEAU

Matthew Ellerton’s only starter at Morphettville. Form this time in work reads typically super consistent with two only unplaced efforts having had zero luck. Simply huge two starts back when placing third behind September Run in G1 William Reid before last start beaten less than a length despite racing three wide no cover throughout. Reckon at the Set weights with blinkers interestingly going on for first time this colt reads as the days best bet at the opening $5….rates $3.25!
