Big 6 (Sat)

Big 6 – May 14

Last week’s Big 6 found 1 winner, Hameron (3.40). We’ve gone for a bit more value this week, hopefully bouncing back big time.

Onto this week:

:one: Flemington R6 #9 ARRAN BAY
:two: Flemington R8 #3 MORVADA
:three: Scone R7 #3 TYCOONIST

:four: Scone R10 #1 ATHELRIC
:five: Eagle Farm R8 #3 COUNT DE RUPEE
:six: Morphettville R3 #1 TWIN STARS

Ran well 1st up despite laying in badly in the straight. Should be able to improve here 2nd up out to 1400m. Maps to get a good run in transit.

Was an impressive winner last start in a Listed 1400 race in Adelaide. Drops back in grade here and only rises 1kg. From his draw he should be able to push forward and sit outside the leader or box seat and get every chance to win again.

Profiles well for this race coming off a win in the Listed Hawkesbury Rush over 1100 and finishing 2nd to ISOTOPE the start prior over 1200 in the Magic Millions sprint. He rises slightly in weight here, but is drawn barrier 1 which should allow him to stalk the leaders. Getting back onto a drier surface should allow him to show case his turn of foot at his preferred distance.

Had excuses when returned gelded before two big wins towering up likes of Salina Dreaming (is here), Dragonstone, Fox Fighter and Our Bellagio Miss, in latest he ran super overall time figure too. Can win again!

(Oz Racing Form)

Got up in the last few strides to win for us 2 weeks ago at this track and tip. He is drawn perfectly to sit just behind the speed and he’s hard fit now, so should get every chance to win again. From all reports the track could get back to a good 4 but is likely to be no worse than a soft 6. This fellow will be fine within that range and looks a great each way bet at the $9.50.

Tony & Calvin McEvoy McEvoy appear to have themselves another most promising youngster in their Stable with this 2yo Zoustar Colt. Impressed on debut winning the Magic Millions SA Classic before being sent for another eight week freshen-up. Returned to the races a fortnight back, settled back last in a race in which leaders walked before rattling off some terrific, clear race quickest final sectionals. To get within 1.9L of impressive in-form winner See You In Heaven really was extremely meritorious to add a Group 3 runner-up to his now impressive brief resume. Rise here to 1400m absolutely ideal and rates the days best bet at the opening $3.20….rates $2.50.
