Big 6 (Sat)

Big 6 – July 2

Our run of 1-winner Saturday’s continued last week with Sacred Palace (3.30).

Onto this week:

:one: Flemington R5 #4 ROCK UP
:two: Flemington R7 #3 SIRIUS SUSPECT
:three: Flemington R8 #12 TUVALU

:four: Rosehill R4 #5 BLACK QUEEN
:five: Rosehill R5 #5 SHADES OF ROSE
:six: Murray Bridge R6 #1 KARACASU

FLEMINGTON

R5 #4 ROCK UP

Walked in maiden then went 1400m-to-2000m here and way back, held-up whilst Texas Tea was racing away. He picked-up and charged into clear second and that race rated very well.

R7 #3 SIRIUS SUSPECT

Has had 5 runs this time in and hasn’t finished worse than 4th. His last start 3rd in the Golden Topaz 1200 was admirable as he had to work to find a position and just knocked up late. Back to a track he knows well, drops 2kgs in weight and will be on speed in what looks a moderate tempo race. The only slight negatives are the soft track and that he’s winless now for 77 weeks. That said he looks a nice each way bet at $8.00.

R8 #12 TUVALU

Bounced back last start to his best form after having blood issues his previous two starts. Maps to roll across here. Big weight drop as well helps.

ROSEHILL

R4 #5 BLACK QUEEN

Has been building to a win with 3 starts this prep and gets out to a distance she has won once at and placed twice at from 3 starts. The soft track and small field should give this mare every chance to return to the winners stall.

R5 #5 SHADES OF ROSE

3 out of 3 in her first prep including a win on the Heavy. Comes into this with 2 trials under her belt and although this will be her biggest test, should be right up to it.

MURRAY BRIDGE

R6 #1 KARACASU

Don’t normally make a habit of backing even money favourites however when they a rate a genuine $1.30 chance one simply has to be on. Quite simply if this bloke repeats either of his past two ratings he will simply brain these as he did against a very similar line-up here this track/distance two starts back when lumping 61kg. Bumped into the two promising types of Passive Aggressive and Star Patrol last start when far from disgraced. Plummets many grades here for only rising 1.5kg. Only bad luck can beat him and clear best bet on the program!
