Big 6 – August 6
Last week’s Big 6 found Wicklow (3.00) leaving us 3 units short of a profit.
Onto this week:
Flemington R1 #4 BERKELEY SQUARE
Flemington R7 #5 HORRIFYING
Flemington R8 #4 NICOLINI VITO
Randwick R7 #6 LORD ARDMORE
Randwick R8 #3 FORBIDDEN LOVE
Murray Bridge R3 #7 HIDDEN LEGEND
FLEMINGTON
R1 #4 BERKELEY SQUARE
Will appreciate the bigger track after racing inside at Caulfield. Got clear late there and found the line with quick sectionals.
R8 #4 NICOLINI VITO
Returned with a strong performance down the straight over 1200m. Ran the 2nf fastest L600/400/200m of the day. Looks ideally suited to 1400m 2nd up where he can settle up on the pace.
RANDWICK
R7 #6 LORD ARDMORE
Nice return at 1300m then sharply to 1800m, set a strong speed and kept running beating in-form Francesco Guardi with gaps behind, in good time. Can only be fitter! Good horse.
R8 #3 FORBIDDEN LOVE
Won the G1 Canterbury stakes over 1300 last prep and she should be wound up for this after her trainer declared they are hoping for an Everest slot. She was trucking in her lead up trial and looked to easily have the measure of rival COUNT DE RUPEE. Slow track suits, Bowman to ride and she should be able to come across and box seat on what looks an even tempo…she’s the one to beat.

MURRAY BRIDGE
R3 #7 HIDDEN LEGEND
Admit not one to get carried away by trials however impossible not to be impressed with this blokes recent 7.5L demolition of rivals, absolutely untouched! First-up form also a lot better than initially reads whilst forecast rain also no detriment to chances. Ratings two campaigns back has him winning this comfortably. Also getting in just 1kg above the minimum is enough to convince he is a cracking each-way bet at the opening $5….rates $3.50.
