Bendigo Racing Tips – Wed Nov 13

We will be at Bendigo this Wednesday.

Track: Good4. Rail: True.

Best Bet: Race 4 – QUANTUM MECHANIC

===

Race 1: Maiden Plate Set Weights 1100m

ABRAXOS (1) has been to the race four times, unplaced at all four, all at his first prep. He resumes today off an 18-week break, there was a lot to like about the way he attacked the line when asked in his recent trial. He gets the blinkers off, will be giving them a start but looks to have come back well.

Dangers:

MISS ELENA (7) looks the obvious danger, she debted in a Blue Diamond Prelude before being sent to the paddock. She was off the map resuming, sat back and stormed hoe to narrowly miss. Not sure about taking around even money for her though. ODALINE (8) had been racing well before hitting the wet track last start and looks an improver. RUNAWAY MAX (3) is on debut, he is 6YO having his first start so the market will be a better guide there.

Race 2: Maiden Plate Set weights 1300m

This looks NERONE’s (8) race to lose. She has placed at all five career starts, has versatility and just looks to be too good for these. She will roll forward early like she did last time at Sale in a harder maiden than this, she was just run down, I don’t expect that to be happening today.

Dangers:

LAYBUY (6) place on debut but was beaten a long way, the second horse out of that race has since come out and won. She showed enough that with some improvement, she can go one better. WHYKAYOH (9) gets the blinkers off resuming, he placed at his first two before tackling the Dires Produce at Flemington back in the Autumn. Watch the betting to tell us more about how she has come back.  AMMA (11) was poor on debut but with improvement can run into the first four, the race is lacking depth.

Race 3: 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate Set weights 1400m

DONDESKA (4) was very plain on debut at Kyneton, went to Seymour at start two and ran on well over 6 furlongs back nearer the inside which may have been the inferior part of the track. She gets out to the 1400m today which looks ideal and hopefully can settle closer.

Dangers:

It looks an open race on paper. JEALICE (6) was beaten favourite on debut and sent straight to the paddock, resumed at Benalla and got a long way before running on well into a place. She also looks suited getting out in trip. NUMERO QUATRE (8) should have nearly won resuming, she ran on well before racing very tight late and the margin wasn’t great. OUR AUGUST ROSE (9) was on the speed but held-up early in the straight on debut when the runs came. She should have finished closer. Tough race.

Race 4: Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate Set weights 1600m

QUANTUM MECHANIC (9) may start the shortest priced favourite of the day, and deservedly so. She was good at her first two runs this prep, last start she was only beaten just over a couple of lengths in the Group 2 Fillies Classic at the Valley. She drops back to a set weight maiden for the girls, what can beat her? Maybe only bad luck.

Dangers:

None. URBAN EQUITY (6) lost her chances at the start when resuming but hit the line well, CHILULA (3) has placed at 4of her 7 career starts and AMAMAGIC (1) can improve off two poor runs if she returns to how she was going last prep. But they are all playing for the minor spots only.

Race 5: BM70 Handicap 1100m

PRINCE OF CAVIAR (5) was meant to make his return to racing last week but was scratched, so not really sure where the well bred son of the mighty mare is in her progress. He has the ability we saw that last time in work, but can he match the hype with the performance?

Dangers:

MUMBLES (3) is resuming and has a good record when fresh, last prep he ran on hard when first-up to narrowly go down to the smart Morrissy, that would certainly be good enough to win this. The dry track looks to be in his favour also. SAGARRA (1) had plenty of excuses when resuming, he over-raced and then was held-up, but did make up some good ground late when clear out wide. PHYSICALITY (4) has been putrid at his last couple but gets back onto a good track which he needs. I expect him to be a huge improver.

Race 6: Class 1 Handicap 1600m

LIVING THE DREAM (2) should continue the good day for favourite backers, he sat off the track without cover to win his maiden two back then went to Ballarat last time in his first go out of that grade ran on hard but did have every chance. He draws to get a softer run here and has the closing speed to be too quick late.

Dangers:

AUSSIE NUGGET (1) cracked it for his first win last start at try number 7, he overcame some setbacks in the run and it really was a huge win. HE will be giving them a start but looks the only danger, does he have the confidence now after finding the line first? PORT ROYAL (3) is another last start maiden winner, he brained them in an easier race at Seymour by almost 4 lengths. Just a matter of how far back he will get here? NECESSITAS (7) has the good draw and speed to take up a good spot close to the leaders, she will get the economical run she needs second-up.

Race 7: BM64 Handicap 2400m

SUPER GIRL (14) goes on top in a race where I have no confidence, staying races I rarely do. She drops back from the Bendigo Cup here last time where she wasn’t beaten far, she was obviously outclassed there and was huge odds, go on her two placings prior to that.

Dangers:

The big field should ensure a genuine tempo, QUEEN GUINEVERE (12) will be giving them a start but has been good at her last three including a win at Benalla. Look for her late. HUTCHINSON (5) may have more upside, he was off the scene for well over a year and put it all together last start for a huge maiden win where he gapped them. It wasn’t much of a field he beat, be very interested to see how he goes up in this grade. CLEO”S POET (3) looks the leader, it may be a matter of how easily he gets across form the wide draw.

Race 8: BM70 Handicap 1300m

WIDESPOREAD (13) has the wide draw, but that may just mean we get a better price. She resumed at the Valley and there was a lot to like about the way she fought late when challenged and didn’t let her condition get the better of her. She will roll forward, better drawn there than the pole though?

Dangers:

LIANNE (16) is also drawn out, she resumed with a good win at Benalla in a 64 grade, she will ease back from a wide draw and come with one run as she did last time. KAMIEN (8) won two in a row earlier in the prep and has ran on well at her last two including two back where she was against the tempo. GELIGNITE JACK (7) has not placed in two previous fresh runs, he may want further but he was tackling harder races than this when last in. If the track is favouring those on the speed early, Widespread looks a great bet..
